I had the honor to be chosen as one of three featured artists for “Thyme in a Garden”, an exhibit at the Yates County Arts Center. I’m sharing this wonderful space along with a talented photographer, Nancy Ridenour, and an incredible artist that creates wonders with clay, Linda Huey. On display are my watercolors mounted on Claybord. The exhibit is in conjunction with my workshop “Floral Watercolor Workshop” in June at Sunny Point, a cottage owned by the Yates County Arts Center. I will be teaching how to mount watercolors without framing, glazing techniques and how to maximize watercolor pigments to save money.
The opening reception was last Friday, May 18, and I had the pleasure to meet them the other artists, other members and supporters from the community. I have to say I quite surprised by the incredible support from the community. Usually you’ll find other artists at these openings, but here I met non-artist supporters from as far California, how wonderful is that! Despite hobbling around in a hot pink cast, we had a lovely evening followed by dinner across the street.
The exhibit will be available to the public till June 16, 2012, the gallery is located at 119 East Elm St, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
